
Add all ingredients except the red wine to a shaker and vigorously dry-shake (without ice) for 30 seconds.
Add ice and shake again until well chilled.
Double-strain into a chilled rocks glass over fresh ice.
Gently float the wine on top by drizzling it over the back of a bar spoon (see notes).
Garnish with a skewered maraschino cherry and orange wheel.
