Ingredients
- 1 tsp
- 1 tspmaraschino liqueurLuxardo (Luxardo)
- 2lemon twists
- 1strawberry
- 1white sugar cube
- 1½ ozblanco tequilaSiembra Azul (Siembra Azul)
- ½ ozblanco tequilajalapeño-infused – see notes (jalapeño-infused – see notes)
- ½ ozeast india solera sherryLustau (Lustau)
Garnish: half strawberry
Preparation
- 1.
In a shaker, muddle the simple syrup, maraschino liqueur, lemon twists, strawberry, and sugar cube.
- 2.
Add the tequilas and sherry and whip (shake with a few pieces of crushed ice just until the ingredients are incorporated).
- 3.
Dump into a double rocks glass and top with crushed ice.
- 4.
Garnish with the half strawberry and serve with a straw.

Inspired by the classic cobbler formula, using just a bit of sherry as a nod to the original recipe.
Jalapeño-infused tequila
In a container, combine the ribs and seeds from 4 jalapeños and the chopped flesh of ½ jalapeño with a 750 ml bottle of Siembra Azul blanco tequila. Stir well. Let stand at room temperature for 20 minutes, tasting frequently until the heat level is to your liking. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve.
