Origin
The Vieux Carré is a New Orleans classic named after the city's famed French Quarter (it means "old square" in French). The drink was created in the 1930s by Walter Bergeron, a bartender at New Orleans’ legendary Carousel Bar (formerly the Swan Room), which is inside the Hotel Monteleone.
