Ingredients
- ¾ ozmezcal
- ¾ ozblanco tequila
- ¾ ozwhite crème de cacao
- ¾ ozgénépi
- 1 dashorange bitters
Garnish: star anise
Preparation
- 1.
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir until chilled.
- 2.
Strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass.
- 3.
Garnish with star anise (see notes)
Notes
On the garnish
For a dramatic flourish, soak the star anise in overproof vodka while you prepare the drink. Then, before garnishing, light the star anise over the drink.
On the drink
Says creator Brian Evans: "With this drink, I wanted to pair flavors of bitterness, chocolate and smokiness. I've found that what might seem almost like opposites, all pleasantly attract."
