Alaska Cocktail

Ingredients
- 1½ ozLondon dry ginor Old Tom gin (or Old Tom gin)
- ½ ozyellow chartreuse
- 1 dashorange bittersoptional (optional)
Garnish: lemon twist
Preparation

Combine all ingredients in mixing glass with ice and stir until chilled.
- 2.
Strain into a chilled coupe
- 3.
If desired, express a lemon twist over the drink, then use as a garnish.
Notes
The Alaska cocktail first appeared in print in 1913, calling for Old Tom gin, yellow Chartreuse, and a dash of orange bitters. A later version, in the 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book, calls for London dry gin and skips the bitters.
