About the drink
Coquito, which means "little coconut," is a holiday staple in Puerto Rico. It's typically drunk after dinner in a small, short glass. This recipe makes 15-20 servings.
Spiced coconut milk
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 can (15 oz) coconut milk with 2 cinnamon sticks, 3 whole cloves, 2 star anise, and 3 allspice berries. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes. Strain through a mesh strainer and let cool before using.
