Stir all of the ingredients with ice until well-chilled.

Strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass.

Twist a citrus peel over the drink and place in the glass. Optionally, spear a green olive on a cocktail pick and balance on the rim of the glass.
Notes
The Bamboo was created in 1870s San Francisco by bartender Louis Eppinger, but didn't gain popularity until Eppinger placed it on the menu of the Grand Hotel’s bar in Yokohama, Japan (Eppinger managed the bar here from 1890 to 1908).
