Black Cocoa and Orange Syrup

Ingredients
- 1 cupdemerara sugar
- 0.5 cupwater
- 2 tbspunsweetened cocoa powder
- Orange peel(from a large orange)
Instructions
- 1.
Add the sugar and water to a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
- 2.
Simmer until sugar is dissolved.
- 3.
Remove from heat and add the cocoa powder and orange peel.
- 4.
Stir until cocoa powder is dissolved and allow to steep until cool.
- 5.
Strain out solids and bottle.
Notes
Keep refrigerated in an airtight container for up to one week.
