Ingredients
- ¾ ozrye whiskeyGeorge Dickel(George Dickel)
- ¾ ozcognac
- ¾ ozsweet vermouth
- 2 tspBenedictine
- 4 dashespimento bittersDale DeGroff’s(Dale DeGroff’s)
Garnish: maraschino cherry, lemon twist
Preparation
- 1.
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled.
- 2.
Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
- 3.
Garnish with a cherry, a lemon twist, or both.
Notes
Created in the 1930s by Walter Bergeron, a bartender at New Orleans’ legendary Carousel Bar (formerly the Swan Room), which is inside the Hotel Monteleone.
