Ingredients
- 1 ozinfused Jamaican rumor El Dorado 5-yr rum – see notes(or El Dorado 5-yr rum – see notes)
- 1 ozcognacMaison rouge(Maison rouge)
- ¾ ozorgeat
- ½ ozlemon juice
- ½ ozlime juice
- ¼ ozgrapefruit juice
- 3 dashesangostura bittersto float(to float)
- ½ ozGreen Chartreuseas garnish(as garnish)
Garnish: sugar cube
Preparation
- 1.
Add the infused rum, cognac, orgeat, and citrus juices to a shaker with ice and shake until well chilled.
- 2.
Strain into a highball glass over crushed ice.
- 3.
Float the bitters over the top of the drink.
- 4.
Juice half a lime and place the empty lime shell on top of the drink.
- 5.
Pour the Chartreuse into the lime shell. Place a sugar cube in the lime and ignite with a match or lighter.
Notes
Infused rum: In a 750 ml bottle of Hamilton Jamaican gold rum, steep ¼ cup golden raisins, 1 scraped-out vanilla bean, 1 tbsp cloves, 1 whole cinnamon stick, 3 crushed cardamom pods, and 1 tbsp allspice berries for 48 hours, then strain.
