Ingredients

1 ozbourbon
1 ozapple brandy(Laird’s Jersey Lightning is a great option)
1 ozapple juice
0.5 ozapple cider vinegar
2 dashesFee Brothers Black Walnut Bitters

Garnish: apple slice, freshly grated cinnamon and star anise

Preparation

1.
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake until well chilled.
2.
Strain into a cocktail glass.
3.
Garnish with a floating apple slice.
4.
Dust with freshly grated cinnamon and star anise.

Notes

If you’re using an American apple brandy, try to avoid a spirit labeled blended applejack, which can include up to 80% neutral grain spirits and may affect the drink's balance.
