Fall spice syrup

Ingredients

  • 2 tspcardamom
  • 5star anise(whole)
  • 1 tspnutmeg
  • 5ginger root(stems, diced)
  • 3cinnamon sticks
  • 3whole cloves
  • 1orange twist
  • 2 cupsfine white sugar
  • 2 cupswater

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Toast the cardamom in a saucepan on medium heat.

  2. 2.

    Add the remaining ingredients and stir until the sugar has completely dissolved.

  3. 3.

    Let cool for 30 minutes, then strain into a jar with a fine-mesh sieve.

Notes

Keeps in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks.
