Brown-butter-washed bourbon

Ingredients
- 0.5 cupunsalted butter
- 750 mlbourbon(preferably Benchmark)
Instructions
- 1.
Slowly brown the butter in a saucepan until it gives off a nutty aroma.
- 2.
Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- 3.
Pour a 750 mL bottle of Benchmark bourbon (or a bourbon of your choice) into a plastic container, then gently stir in the brown butter.
- 4.
Leave the mixture uncovered until completely cool and the butter has become firm and risen to the top of the container.
- 5.
Freeze the mixture, skim off the solids, then strain through cheesecloth to remove remaining solids.
Notes
Keeps for a few weeks.
