In a glass mug, combine all of the ingredients. Give it a quick stir, then garnish.
Winter Spice Syrup: 2 cups golden brown sugar 2 cups filtered water 1 navel orange, sliced in half 4 cinnamon sticks 1/2 cup fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced 2 Tbsp. whole cloves
Heat the brown sugar and water until the sugar is fully dissolved. Pierce the surface of the orange halves with the cloves and add to the syrup. Add sliced ginger and cinnamon sticks and simmer on low for 1 hour, minimum. Strain and cool to room temperature. If sealed in a jar, syrup should last in refrigerator for 10-14 days.
