0.5 ozFiery Ginger Syrup
2 ozmezcal
0.5 ozhoney syrup (1:1 water:honey)
1 ozlime juice
barspoonsmoky mezcal

Garnish: candied ginger

Preparation

1.
Add all but smoky mezcal to a cocktail shaker
2.
Add ice and shake for 10 seconds
3.
Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice
4.
Float smoky mezcal on finished drink

Notes

The Medicina Latina is an alternate variation on the modern classic Penicillin cocktail. Utilizing mezcal in place of blended scotch and lime in place of lemon gives this cocktail a distinct and delicious Mexican flavor profile.
