Ingredients

1.75 ozyamazaki 12-year whisky
0.5 ozdolin rouge vermouth
0.5 ozmassenez kirsch vieux cherry brandy
0.25 ozSolerno blood orange liqueur
1 dashbittermens xocolatl mole bitters

Preparation

1.
Stir all the ingredients (except the orange twist) over ice, then strain into a martini glass.
2.
Flame the orange twist over the drink and discard.
3.
No garnish.

Notes

Created by Joaquín Simó, 2009. A stirred variation of the classic Blood and Sand cocktail (page 140), named after a Hemingway book about bullfighters. Cherry Heering is replaced with dry cherry brandy, and orange juice with blood orange liqueur.
