Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake hard for 8-10 seconds.
2.
Strain into a chilled coupe glass and drop in a brandied cherry.

I'm still experimenting with this drink but find that something slightly above ½ ounce of lemon juice yields the proper amount of tartness.
