Ingredients: 2 oz pasquet pineau des charentes; 0.5 oz cruzan single-barrel rum; 0.5 oz Granny Smith apple juice; 0.5 oz lemon juice; 0.25 oz cane sugar syrup; 1 tsp cruzan black strap rum

Preparation

1.
Shake all the ingredients (except the Black Strap rum) with ice, then strain into a port glass.
2.
Float the Black Strap rum on top.
3.
No garnish.

Notes

Created by Tyson Buhler, 2013. Inspired by a vintage British drink called the Treacle, which is a rum old-fashioned topped with a layer of apple juice. The Black Strap rum float is almost like topping the drink with pancake syrup.
