From Maxwell Britten
Garnish: Angostura whipped cream, bitters, nutmeg
To make the Angostura whipped cream: whip 2 oz of heavy whipping cream with ¼ oz Angostura bitters and ½ oz rich demerara syrup
Combine all ingredients in a shaker (without ice) and shake until well mixed and foamy.
Add ice and shake again to chill.
Strain into a chilled glass, then top with Angostura whipped cream, several dashes of Angostura bitters, and grated nutmeg.
Despite having what might read as a big bruiser of a flavor profile, the Chandelier Flip is “actually pretty light on its feet,” says William Elliot, bar director at Maison Premiere. Inspired by the classic Coffee Cocktail (which contains no coffee, oddly), the drink combines two grape-based bottles for a layered mouthfeel, while a whole egg boosts the richness factor. Herbal, silky, and topped with aromatic Angostura whipped cream, this drink is ideal for holiday brunch.
