Combine all the ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake to chill, then strain into a hurricane glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish.

Remove the syrup from the heat and allow it to cool to room temperature, then add 1 cup of fresh lemon juice and 1/2 cup of fresh lime juice and mix well. Keep the remainder refrigerated for up to 1 week.
