Ingredients
- 0.25 ozClassic Gum Syrup
- 2 ozIrish whiskey
- fresh basil
Garnish: basil
Preparation

Muddle 2-3 basil leaves with gum syrup in a julep cup
- 2.
Fill with crushed ice and add whiskey
- 3.
Stir until cold and frosty, then top with more crushed ice

Pick a high-character Irish Whiskey - something with rich, oily spice notes to pull down the basil's volatile peppery aroma.
